Seasonal Allergies And Asthma Or Spider Bites?
66Treat all seasonal allergy symptoms with suspicion. Allergies and asthma may be the result of a spider bite!
An allergic reaction is not unusual in cases of spider bites, and the symptoms can vary from person to person. What might be suspected as seasonal allergy symptoms could be a spider bite, whether the actual bite was felt or not. Some spiders are able to inflict serious injuries, and the effects can often go undetected for long periods of time, until visible signs or more serious internal allergic reactions take place. An allergic response may be subtle to begin with and mistaken for a common ailment, but it could also be life threatening, so care should be taken to avoid spider bites at all times.
Spider bites are common during the spring and summer months, and spider infestation should be kept under strict control by hiring a professional spider extermination service. Your exterminator will offer advice about how often to have your home treated for insects and spider infestations, and you should keep a calendar or book ahead for the next extermination to be carried out as necessary. Arachnids like the Hobo Spider, Australia’s White Tail Spider and Red Back Spider, the Brown Recluse, and Black Widow Spider, and the Wolf Spider are all known to dwell inside homes, and will cause dramatic injuries which range from stinging sensations to burning, with a tendency to progress to necrosis. For spider info, visit “Venomous Spider Bites” at this link.
The blistering and subsequent skin and flesh “death” caused by necrosis can result in necessary amputation in some cases, and early signs of rashes or blistering can be mistaken for seasonal allergy symptoms. Some people break out in a rash or hives at certain times of the year because of allergies to weeds and grasses they encounter while gardening, however, if you happen to break out in hives, especially during the months where spiders are a problem, it would be wise not to apply any skin treatment or hives relief until you contact your doctor, or at least until you can identify the cause of the outbreak.
If you suspect a spider bite, or if something bit you and it was not seen or captured, applying skin moisturizer or other common skin treatments will possibly aggravate the bite area and cause more problems. Likewise, if the area is itchy, do not use a mosquito bite treatment. Instead, rinse the affected area with cool water to relive the itchiness, and seek medical attention as soon as possible. Do not soap skin either; bare skin is best for your doctor to observe possible tell tale signs of certain spider bites, and will make an accurate diagnosis easier.
If migraine nausea occurs, and you don’t usually suffer from migraines, do not treat it as such. Nausea stress can result from being bitten by a spider, and nausea treatments are not always recommended for instances of poisoning. Check with your poison control information hotline if you notice an affected area of skin, or if migraines are not on your list of usual ailments; a spider bite may be to blame, and certain toxins require nausea to be suppressed. When nausea suppression is recommended, inducing vomiting can cause serious internal injuries or death. Similarly, seasonal allergies and asthma should also be treated with suspicion if your home has a spider infestation; if you have been outdoors working in the garden, or if you notice any affected skin area. Spiders can inflict serious injury without ever being seen.
